Water in the basement is in form of humidity (H20)
When this humidity is exposed to UV-C light and Titanium Oxide found in these units, the elements of the H20 splits into "OH" and "H"
At this point the humidity is no longer water/humidity ...thus... this action dehumidifies and drys the basement air!
