“WOW” — MY TRANSFORMATION:

I own a 780 sq ft home with a full basement that was deemed “Uninhabitable” for health reasons, because of the stench and mould growth that had built up. 

I had a 3rd party Air Quality Control Co. conduct testing with recommendations to “Gut the Home” to remove the mould and VOC contaminants.

To gut would cost me many - many $1000.00’s of dollars … but … it wouldn’t fix the underlying causes of dampness in the basement nor remove the off-gassing present …… thus moulds could return given the right conditions and the toxic vapours would still be present ... “A Band-Aid Approach” at best!

As new customers, we recognize the value this GMI Air System has to offer a household. Our decision to purchase a unit was based on its application to help improve our home air quality, plus having it fully supported by the science and research released by NASA with its usage in the International Space Station.

Toenail Fungus — “Believe-it-or-Not”

About 3 years ago we were testing a new adaptation for our bed cooling appliance we named the “Cama Cooler”. 

We wanted to introduce sanitized air into beds with this bed cooler to help individuals recovering from surgeries or open wounds like burn victims to keep them in a pristine environment as they healed.

We knew the Hydroxyl Technology developed by NASA was very safe and effective in purifying the air that it treated as it has been used in many industries commercially for decades.

During our testing stage we placed a Hydroxyl Generator (the forerunner to the GMI AIR unit at the foot of the bed while directing the treated air over the person sleeping in the bed all night through.

The very first thing noticed was the toenails changed in color. These nails were opaque milky brown in color, but within 3 nights the toenails changed to being transparent and clear showing the pink nail-bed underneath. 

We just proved the Hydroxyl Generated Disinfecting Air is truly an effective sanitizing system. We are SOLD on this!

It has been just over a month now since I had a GMI Air Purifier installed in my furnace. It has been doing wonders with the mouldy odours coming from my basement. I used to smell this musty smell throughout the house that I couldn’t get rid of regardless of what I did. I’m sure this was from the dampness down stairs allowing black mould and mildew to grow.  The smell of mould is now gone meaning the mould causing the odour is also gone. I was told this GMI Air System would remove moulds so on faith, I purchased one. I am very pleased I took this step knowing that prolonged exposer to moulds is harmful to one’s health.

As a followup my GMI Air System seems to be working well. Just so u know, my Son’s bedroom has always been smelly from the dogs having accidents on his carpeted floor and I think him being a pre-teen boy. I went in there last night before I went to bed to turn off his music and I could not smell that gross smell at all. He had his dirty clothes from the day in there and nothing. No smell. WOW!

I also noticed we haven’t had our living room picture window fogging up lately. We normally pull the shades down at night on this picture window and would notice a lot of moisture collected on the sill most mornings, but since we started running our GMI Air system, it’s gone! We were told that this unit would de-humidify our home and it appears it has! Happy customer

Ten days have passed since our GMI Air in-duct air purifier starting working in our home, we have noted several things:

1) The air in our crawl-space had a distinctive musty odour for years that has completely disappeared. 

2) Both of us have found our breathing to be much better with no congestion that we suffered with year after year. 

3) No more morning coughing sessions.

This year (Spring 2022), I had occasion to clean out a house which the same people had occupied for nearly 35 years. The basement was concrete with a thin carpet from the seventies covering it. While it had never flooded, the water table was high and kept the floor damp. As I moved things around in the basement, I found a strong musty smell pervaded in the rumpus room, and one of the little rooms off that area. There was mildew found in the hallway and mildew noted under items in that area. These mildew or mold spores found were even spreading upstairs. The dehumidifier dried the basement, but the musty smells continued. I experienced runny nose, watering eyes, and sore joints from limited exposure. I had tried various other measures without success before purchasing a GMIair Portable unit, which I ran continuously. I believe that the carpet still contains many allergens and should be removed, but the difference in the smell and tolerability in the house had a very much marked improvement. Prior to purchasing my unit, I talked to another customer, who was very satisfied with the way their GMIair unit handled forest fire smoke in their home. There was a toxic smell in my garage. I thought it smelled like gasoline. Was concerned about a possible fire. So I thoroughly cleaned and cleared out every item in my garage in search of this smell. 

I discovered I had a large plastic container that was leaking paint thinner out into the cardboard box it was in as well as onto the floor of the garage and ultimately through the floor boards and into the house.

This petroleum odour was very much present inside the house and throughout the garage. I tried everything I could think of to remove that smell. Nothing worked!

I'm so happy, but in some disbelief when I installed my GMI Air unit because a large dehumidifier and 2 large floor fans would not dry up my basement. Living at the lake has it’s challenges with high water table creating damp crawlspaces and basements in cabins / homes. I’ve experienced this first-hand so in May I purchased and installed my GMI Air In-duct system to control the dampness, mildew/moulds and related odours we been put-up with and became accustom to… but I didn’t think this was healthy for us. The biggest concern in the past has been the Black Mold that has been developing on the windows due to moisture and frost build up. When we installed our GMI Air unit in mid Nov. 2020, we also cleaned the windows of any buildup of Black Mold — it has not shown up since.

I'm still very positive about the unit.  Glad I installed it.

We live in a home we built that is now 11 years old.
We had black mould build-up in the soap dispenser of the automatic washer (clothes washer) and also in the bathroom shower head.
